Kurt Geiger sustainability strategy development

Overview

We have worked with Kurt Geiger, a portfolio company from Private Equity house Cinven, from 2022, to support its sustainability strategy development.

As part of its growth story and sustainability progress, Kurt Geiger sought to establish a robust value chain emissions footprint covering all relevant and material scope 3 areas possible. Footprints of the quality produced by Ever can be leveraged to build decarbonisation strategies and targets to meet stakeholder and investor expectations, improve company reputation, drive sustainable business practices and contribute to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy.

How we worked together

As this was Kurt Geiger's first foray into value chain emissions footprinting, education and upskilling were powerful tools that were delivered by Ever's experts primarily through an in-depth workshop with business leads. Once a deep understanding of the journey and goal was built, thorough data collection throughout the business took place and best practice calculation methodologies were established to utilise what was available. Where quality data gaps existed, strategies for improvement were created, empowering the business to collect higher-quality data and improve the accuracy of its footprint over time. The end product was a comprehensive scope 3 footprint of Kurt Geiger's most relevant categories in line with Greenhouse Gas Protocol gold standard methodology. The results were integrated with Ever-reviewed scope 1 and 2 figures and drafted into Kurt Geiger's inaugural sustainability report produced by our sister business, Design Portfolio.
